Summer lemonades

Summer lemonades

30. 4. 2020

When else than in summer does a person feel like a proper refreshment. Although drinking should be a year-round routine, we think of liquid pleasures more often during hot days. And such homemade lemonade is a temptation even for those who otherwise prefer carbonated drinks from the store. These are mostly full of sugar and preservatives that are completely useless to drink. On the contrary, you can add only what you want to your own lemonade and thus control not only your calorie intake but also the taste.

Making lemonade is very easy and your imagination is unlimited. Whether you like it fresher or sweeter, or you are not afraid to experiment and choose a more exotic combination. I personally like to experiment and usually adapt the recipe to the current state of the fridge. Leftover berries, mint from the pot, lemon or a piece of melon. No problem, go with them

You can make the lemonade first thing in the morning and just top it up with water throughout the day. And such homemade sipping is better if you have at least one carafe or pitcher at home. I prefer glassware. They are easy to maintain and lemonades look fantastic in them. Members of your household or visitors will appreciate it too, after all, they are the first ones to eat.

What caught my eye at first glance were the ACQUA design decanters. The simple lines and stainless steel lid that fit into any interior. The carafes with lids have a great advantage besides the nice design. The lid keeps unwanted ingredients out and you can concentrate on enjoying your drink. And that's quite essential with such ginger-mint lemonade☺. On the other hand, if you crave a full glass of fruit, a large pitcher is ideal. And it doesn't matter at all if you have a kit and 12 glasses to go with it. As always, there is beauty in simplicity, just a classic glass pitcher like Impilabile or Ben and you're good to go. And as for the glasses, that's entirely up to you. I was drawn to the Stellar glasses, which are totally versatile and timeless. You can get them in all shapes and

But to move from theory to practice, try a recipe for homemade lemonade. If you weren't already a fan, you're sure to become one. You've got all summer.

Peach lemonade with prosecco

  • For about 1 l of lemonade you need:
  • 0.3 l prosecco or other sparkling wine
  • 0.5 l of water
  • 2 peaches
  • 2-3 sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • ice

Pour the water and prosecco into the decanter and stir. Add the diced rosemary sprigs. If you let the lemonade stand all the flavours will mix nicely and you will taste the subtle sweetness from the peaches and herbs in the prosecco. Plus, the lemonade will colour beautifully over time. Add ice before serving.

Wild berry lemonade

  • For approx. 1 l of lemonade you need:
  • 50 g strawberries
  • 50 g raspberries
  • 50 g blueberries
  • 50 g blackberries
  • ½ lemon and the juice of the other ½
  • ½ lime and juice of the other ½ juice
  • a few fresh mint leaves
  • ice

Wash all the fruit well, cut the strawberries into smaller pieces and put in a jug with the lemon and lime wedges. Finely chop the mint and add to the jug. Pour the juice of half the lemon and lime over everything and top up with cold water and ice if necessary.
